Ode to Noni

There are certain people who come into your life whom you thank God for everyday our Noni is one of them. Today is her birthday. It seems that as we get older and more family members are added to the family, at certain times our birthday's can get over looked or pushed aside for a multitude of reason. Therefore, I wanted to write a little Ode to our Noni so she knows how special she is to us and that our life's would not be as full and rich if we were not blessed to have her as our Noni.

Noni was there for the birth of Serafina and was with us in heart for the birth of Matteo. She was a wonderful support to me in my time and was greatly missed at Matteo's birth. She has continued to support me in my endeavors as mother by being there to help and offer advice, (sometimes even when I don't think I need it!!) Sadly I can I not currently find the picture of her holding Serafina for the first time but here she is with precious Matteo on the day we came home from the hospital.

Noni has taught us many things over the last few years. One thing that I will always be eternally greatful for, is she taught mommy how to let lose and let the kids have fun. After all all 9 month old babies should get the chance to hold a baby chicken and dye easter eggs, right?

Another thing Noni has taught us is that a little sugar will never hurt anyone...

Not even an 8-month-old! Matteo June 2008

Noni has taught us that family vacations are a must. During those vacations she taught us how to be carefully while feeding the wild geese!

She has been there on our birthdays to help use celebrate!

Noni has also taught us the love for the beach and what to do on really HOT summer days!! She loves her grand kids so much she even let us put a water slide up on her grass and spend ever hot summer day slipping and sliding around!

Noni sure does now how to have a good time. But we can not forget one of the most important thing we have learned from our Noni. That family is the most important thing in life. It is important to take time out and spent it with the ones you love the most. And Noni you are one of those we want to spend out time with. I hope you know on this special day of yours just how loved you are. We love you and wish only the best for you. Thank you for all you do to bright and richen up our lives!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NONI!!

Great-Grandpa Turns 70

Great-Grandpa and his Great-Grand Kids

Saturday we spent the day celebrating Great-Grandpa (Bish-Nono)'s 70th birthday. It was a great party with I think about 90ish of his close friends and relatives. The kids had a great time dressing up in western attire and getting to practice their roping skills. The adults of course had fun chatting and drinking fine wine!! Everyone seemed have a great time. My favorite part of the party was the aftermath. After taking my children home and tucking them into bed Matt and I head back for a little bon-fire action. Karlee and I had to make an emergency run to get marshmallows (as did grandma sue who brought back marshmallows and chocolate.) Then once the the wine and marshmallows ran out at about 11:30 we headed home. (the party had started at 3pm). What a great day. Happy Birthday Bish-Nono, we love you.

My dad did the photography for the effort and made a little website, so if you would to check out all the pictures from the day click here. There are really cute pictures of the kids roping and of course one of our darling family!

My Hubby

One of the days that has long past since my last post is father's day. So instead of doing a father's day blog in July I thought instead I would write a post on my Hubby and what an amazing man he is. (also I never posted one his b-day!! Happy Belate B-day post!)

From the first time I met Matt, I knew I was going to marry him. There was something about him that struck me, his rugged look, sweet nature, his self assurance?!? Amazingly this was our Junior year in high school, 10 years ago. Four years later we did get married and I have never regretted a day since. Yes he can be annoying with all this political discussions, and his extrovertness but he really is a catch. Every day he amazes me more and more. He continues to excel at work were he is helping to building a new company that he will be running in a few more years. Yet he still makes sure that he has time for his family. (Yes he has been know to disappear in to the office for couple of weeks but he always comes back!) He adores his children and spends that special dad time catching fish and doing yucky things mommy can't stand. He has strong faith and morals. He values family. He agreed to buy a house with my parents and my grandfather!! (yes he agreed to live under the same roof as his in-laws). While on in-laws he manged to give me the best possible in-laws anyone could ask for! And yes he will wear green striped pajamas so his wife can get the Christmas family photo she wants!! I could really go on and on.

For fathers day this year we went to church and the over to his mom's house for brunch with is Granddad and family. Then of course he had to have a cigar and relax on the deck. Hopefully he felt celebrated and knows how lucky our children our to have him for a daddy. On the subjects of dads I also must say how lucky my husband was to have such good role models, Bompus (his granddad), Tony (Uncle/Dad) and of course (even though she is a girl) we can not forget Betsy (Mom/Aunt). Matt is also a very passionate man and has been passionate about his country for years so for Father's Day I made him a quilt with 20 different patriotic fabrics and a jean backing! He seemed to really love.

So here is to my husband. The love of my life, the father of my kids, and pretty much the perfect man! I love you Matt!

Busy

I have been meaning to post about all our different activities over the past couple weeks but life has just been to busy. We had father's day, kindergarten graduation, Primuslabs.com company Bar-b-que and Robob's (my grandfathers) 80th birthday. To top all of that off we also had a heat wave (112 degrees for two days) which of course makes you not want to accomplish a thing. I plan to update more with pictures and stories as soon as I have a free moment. Maybe this evening. Until then don't give up hope one day there will be new pictures!

Wednessday Updates

Last Wednesday we had the pleasure of having Matteo's little friend Henry here for a good part of the day. Henry is the little boy of our friends Andy and Jeannet and he will be one June 26th (I believe or sometime close to that). Their daycare lady had to be out of town so we were lucky enough to get to watch the little guy. Of course I have been meaning to write about Matteo's first official play date but alas it is a week late. We had a great time with Henry, he is a sweet little boy. He went along with us to stroller strides and took his morning nap as we walked around! What a good boy. Then we all had a little picnic at the park with our other friends from the park. Matteo loved to watch Henry crawling around and Henry seemed to enjoy the other big kids. After that we headed home and everyone played around the house. We also finished off our lunches that we didn't eat at the park because everyone was still a little hungry. Henry is welcome anytime our house! Here are a few pictures from our day.

The boys finishing lunch up!

Henry really loved our bucket of balls he probably played with these for a good 2omin!

Henry and Matteo. I tried my hardest to get both of their attention but it proved to difficult!

The other news for this Wednesday is Matteo stats! Matteo went to the doctor today and he is weighing in at 17lbs 12oz and is 27inch long. That puts him 50% weight and almost 60% height. The doctor said he looks great and to worry that he just learned to roll over this week!! He is right on track for Matteo. (I am not allowed to compare him to his sister or the other little girls in our playgroup!!). So that wraps it up for this post. Our next doctor appointment will be fun because we are taking all 3 kids in at the same time. Sam is due for his 6yr check up, Serafina her 3yr check up, and Matteo his 9month check-up. Dr. Thompson said will processes them all at once so I don't have to make three separate trips. Should be exciting!! Stay tuned the appointment is in September!

The Mom Song

My dad found this on YouTube awhile back and I thought it was hilarious. This evening we were talking about it again and I thought I should share it with all of you! Hope you enjoy.
