Gymnastic Meet

This year Serafina has enjoyed taking a gymnastic class at Performance Athletics. At the beginning of each year we give the kids a choice of one sport/activity to participate in last year they both chose dance this year gymnastics. Sam ended up not enjoying the sport so we didn't re-enroll him and he busy catching up with school work and waiting for soccer to start again. Serafina on the other hand LOVES gymnastics. Oh my gosh to the point when her teacher told her about a recretional meet the gym was having she just had to participate (she didnt even know what a meet was).

So I signed her up paid the $15 registration fee and it was worth ever penny. The child was on top of the world. I didn't know what to expect having never taking a 4yr to a gymnastic meet, (I was in plenty at age 5 but I also could do a handstand, what do you do with a 4yr?!)

Well let me tell you they ran her through each event with the level 1 girls (ages 4 (Serfaina) to probably 6). It was so cute, she did vault, beam' bars and floor. The floor routine was hysterical because she didnt want to stop they kept saying ok show us one more thing. At the end ever girl got a metal but you would have thought my daughter was the only one who walked away with the gold!! Needless to say I beamed from ear to ear watching her out there with the big girls!

Walking on the beam (the big beam).

Doing her floor rountine this is a table top.

Saluting the judges to start her rountine.

3 Random Things to be Thankful For

PGE workers: I know over the past week in out area that our local PGE guys have been working around the clock and in pour rain and heavy winds to keep our power working. I also realize that in the grand scheme of things our house is low priority. But PGE kept us up to date on our power outage and every time bet there estimate times by hours! Thank you PGE

Running Water: I totally take this for granted but when you live out in the country and you have a well, run by a pump, and your power goes out so does your water supply. I can handle the dark thing, but the note being able to flush a toilet, wipe a counter, brush your teeth, all the things you need with running water...that is a bummer. When you are on city water you maintain water in a power outage, it is cold but at least you can flush your toilets!!

Seat Warmers: We bought my current car used from a very good friend who had it upgraded including seat warmers. Now I could understand why people in snow could use them but here on the central coast, just cracked me up!! I never used them, until this last month. Did you know that if you turn the back warmer on a lift your shirt it is like a nice warm heating pad on a sore back caused my pregnancy. I don't go anywhere now with out turn that seat warmer on and by the time I arrive at my destination my back is all soothed and ready to work for me. Thank you for seat warmers.

January 18, 2010

I turned 28.

Had plans to go to Santa Barbara.

Was going to eat dinner at the Melting Pot with some girlfriends.

Then the wind started.

Then the rain started.

I was not going to be one of those Californian's who cant drive in the rain, so I left Matt at home with Matteo (the other two children were out with family) and I headed to pick up my mom in Santa Maria....in what was only to assumed the eye of the storm.

By Nipomo I wanted to cry. Traffic was not going faster then 40 and at the speed the car was being flung by the wind and rain was pelting the car. It was all I could do to keep the car on the road.

I was not driving to Santa Barbara, my mom gut/fear said no.

Pick up my mom and we had a nice lunch in Santa Maria and then did a little shopping and headed home to find....

Four boys and Matteo on the couchwith.....

no power.

Power went out about 5 minutes after I walked out the door (11:30am).

But wait there is more.....

10 minutes after I left (about the time I was driving through Nipomo) The wind decided to pick up this:
See the shade thing people are eating under in the background to the left, that is what the wind decided to move.

And throw it against this:

Yes that is one of our windows.

Then the wind decided to have it land here:

Here is a map of its flight path:

Started out near the white area on the left, hit the white spot in the middle and you can see one of its legs sticking up on the right in its resting place.

Did I mention it also took off one of our out door lights:

Note the white thing hanging to the left of the door, that was light now it is..

this, a rubber glove covering exposed electrical wires...you go boys!

Now what to do, the power is still out;

PG&E hopes to have it restored by Tuesday at 1:00am

Nonie came and took the kids and we (boys and all) went out to Madonna Inn for dinner (not exactly the GNO I was expecting but it was fun). Instead of chocolate fondue I got pink champagne cake. It was a nice consolation prize but I am still looking forward to getting down to the Melting Pot soon.

Power was restored earlier then expected around 9pm.

So it was not the birthday I was expecting but it was definitely an adventure! All in all it turned out to be a pretty fun day.

It is still raining here and the weather people say that the worset is to come tomorrow! Wish us luck!

Birthday Wish

So..my birthday is in just a few days and my Husband asked me what I wanted. There is really nothing at all that I want, I am happy, have all my needs meet, have a great family, what else do I need, nothing, no honey I don't want anything for my birthday.

Then I thought about it a little more and realized that there is a small list of things I would appreciate on my birthday. I decide to share them here:

1. I would like to get out of bed in morning because I choose to.
2. I don't want to have to pour anyone a glass of milk or make a PB&J sandwich.
3. I don't want to have to act as a mediator amongst fighting children.
4. I would like to take a shower without having a small human running in to ask questions.

and last but definitely not least:

5. I don't want to change a single diaper, poopy or not.

I think that is a small manageble list for my birthday don't you? Hubby hope your reading!

AJ

We have arrived at a name for our little man. I have been putting off saying anything because in the past we had been so definite on baby names it seemed weird that we really had to sit down and discuss this little guys name. The family has been using since before Chirstmas so I decide that it is safe to publish (chance of change are slim). His name will be....

Antonio James Regusci
Or
AJ (for short)

My mom came up with Anthony, which I loved and was a nod to our Nono. Matt like Antonio, and I agreed because it went along with our Italian theme we have going. James is after my daddy, William James Foster.

Now the only suprises left is when he will come and all his sats (hieght, wieght, etc.). We did have an OB appointment today and everything looks great. Not much to report. Mommy ate a little to much over the holiday's so I need to kick it up in the gym (still weighing less then I did at this point in my other pregancies) However it is close!! HAHA. I guess that means I should stop typing and get moving.

Construction Continues

With the holiday's construction was put on hold for about a week but the guys are back and moving forward quickly. We are now to the sheet rocking (drywall) which I guess is a messy project that needs lots of room to maneuver big pieces of sheet rock. So mom and I spent the weekend cleaning out the loft and Serafina's old room even further then we initially had. I feel like I try to pick clutter up only to have more clutter appear. Here is a photo look at our current living spaces.

Our bathroom. These were boxes that were in Serafina's closet now they are being stored in my bathroom.

Overflow storage and Matteo's current bedroom.

Where do you put Serafina's mattress? Well our bathroom is full so how about the bedroom itself.

So where is Serafina sleeping? Oh yes the toddler bed in our sewing room. Yes she can look up over the wall into our bedroom.

Where is Sam sleeping, in his old room for now, that could change in the next day or two depend on how the sheet rocking goes, he could end up on our floor?! However being the eldest kid his clothing are now stored in the laundry room as pictured above.

Over flow toy store (as we have no play room or bedrooms) has spilled into the hallways.

However in a matter of weeks (fingers crossed) part of the remold will be a wonderful "huge" storage closet for all those boxes of baby girl clothing:My storage closet

The loft with the toys as stacked away as possible without moving into our hallway!

Looking down into Serafina's room. (tomorrow I will not be able to see this view ever again)

Sam's new room, this window will be growing, stay tuned!

Looking down the stairs.

Sam's new room, looking at what will be the closet and build in desk area.

We are just so excited about all the changes. Though we are a little crowded now we are looking forward to our new found space. The kids still think that is is great fun getting to live on top of each other and they are learning some great lessons on sharing!! Stay tuned as we are getting to the fun finish touches soon!!!
