Where is all the quilting?!?

My original intent for this blog was to talk about my quilts. However as must of my blog fans have pointed out I spend a lot more time talking about my kids and family!! I imagine it will stay that way, but don't fear I will post about my quilts when then are finished or extremely entertaining.

( I am still quilting just haven't finished anything, everything is half done, what a procrastinator)

Congarts Uncle Trevor!

We are so proud of our Uncle Trevor. Yesterday he defended his master thesis (honesty with all his hard work it should count as a doctoral thesis), and he passed with flying colors!! So in honor of his wonderful work in the aerospace world and finishing his thesis Matteo wore special outfit for the day. However, we never saw Trevor!!! That is why we are posting a few pictures here.

CONGRATULATIONS UNCLE TREVOR!!
We are proud of your hard work!!

Matteo vs Mattoe

I was recently working on a special quilt for Matteo with his name and birth date on it. After carefully embroidering his name Mattoe my dad point out the misspelling. I riped my hard work out and spelled his name correctly Matteo. Then I conducted some research and have found that probably 90% of the time I spell my own son's name wrong!! Can you believe it, I can't even spell my child's name. He is only 4months old and probably on his way to an identity crisis because of me.

So this is a note for all of you out there who have noticed this error in my blogging, the correct spelling is Matteo!

A Night Out

It has been a very busy week between sickness, Matt traveling and my mom having a minor lip thing taken care of. There has been so many moments I have wanted to post but have not had the time. Last night we spent the evening at the Symphony Ball and had a wonderful time. I wanted to share a very rare photo of Matt and I going out for an evening. The best part of the weekend was today, I am still in my pj's and have yet to leave the house. What a great way to end a busy week!

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good:

Doctor called and Matteo does not have RSV!!! That means we can expect the cough to clear up within a week. If it was RSV we were looking at 2-3 weeks with the first 2 weeks being in isolation (no playdates). So we are very happy with that news and the breathing treatments seem to be working well.

The Bad:

My grandfather (whom lives with us) has a chocolate lab, Hershey. Hershey likes to chew alot. We have lots toys, stuff animals, food, you name it. Once he even took a hard drive outside to munch on but we were lucky and it still works. What do you ask this has to do with anything.....

The Ugly:

Hershey decide to eat this:

Yes that is Serafina's carseat. Yesterday my dad took Serafina to her violin lesson because I had to take Mattoe to the Doctors. This morning I ask my mom to make sure the car seat was left for me. She kindly put it by my car, something we do often. Not more then 2hr later I walk down to find the mangled car seat. Hershey seemed to only be interested in the padding of the seat so even thought it lost all or most of it's crash support, I could stilll buckle her in to get us to Johnsons. I walk in sick baby and all, ask for the car seat hoping for a gender nutral color. Of course not, the only one they have is purple with flowers or pink with flowers!! Sorry Mattoe, just didn't feel safe driving any futher with out proper restrait.

The ugliest part of course being the price of a new car seat. Sorry kids no more extra activies this month, Hershey ate them.

Sorry about the spelling errors- I am not a good speller and the speller checker does not seem to be working on my computer!

What a week

So this is just a quick note to let everyone know why I have out of blog land for a while. Last Thursday my mom was at a conference at the Disneyland hotel so my dad decide to take Serafina down by train, and go to Disneyland and of course I had to tag along. For pictures of the event you can go to my Dad's website, click here.

On our return trip Friday night, I noticed Matteo was coughing a bit. Well it turned into a full blown cough and rattle. Yesterday I took him to doctor and we are now down breathing treatments ever4-6hr and they tested him for RSV ( Respiratory syncytial virus). We will find out today if it is really RSV or just a bad chest cold.

Then to top it off our internet has been moving like molasses. That in short is the Regusci. Hopefully I will get some more exciting post in the next few days!

4 Years in the Making

About 4 years ago when Matt and I were talking about starting a family, I purchased a baby outfit. Not just any outfit, but the most adorable knit outfit I had ever saw. The outfit was dark blue pants with matching sweater that had an American flag on it with the writing God Bless America. Now for those of you who do not know my Husband, he is a very patriotic man. To the point that our first house (a 800sq foot, one bedroom guest house) was strictly decorate with a red, white and blue theme. Needless to say when I saw this outfit, I knew Matt would love it. My plan was to wrap it up and when I found out I was pregnant I would give him the outfit to tell him the good news. Well it took about a year for us to conceive Serafina and by then I was so amazed to see two lines I ran out of the bathroom and told him. He never got it as a present.

On with the story, Serafina was born and I thought for sure I would put this navy blue outfit on her, it would make her dad proud. I think I might have tried it on her once. But as fast as I put it on I took it off because it made her look like a boy. Then came Matteo...

And my dream of putting this adorable outfit on my baby boy came true. I must say I think it looks very cute on. Matt is excited that Matteo is showing his patriotism at such a young age. In fact we might just wear it to the polls tomorrow.

So now 4 years in the making: Mattoe in his Patriotic Outfit...

Good shot of the flag and writing

Good shot of my cute baby
